Dragonflies don't sting, generally don't bite people and have been around for 300 million years. A single dragonfly can reportedly eat anywhere from 30 to hundreds of mosquitoes per day. The more I’ve discovered in my backyard, the more intrigued I’ve become with their intricate design.  I’ve sat in my yard with a dragonfly buzzing back and forth around me, snapping up insects, as if I wasn’t even there!  If you have a backyard pond and are lucky enough, you may even have a dragonfly lay eggs in your pond—I did!
